FOURTH WATCH OF THE NIGHT

In Matthew 14, we read, "In the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.  And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.  But straightway Jesus spake unto them saying, Be of good cheer; it is I, be not afraid.  And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.  And he said, Come.  And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.  But when he saw the wind, boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, Lord save me.

When you watch the Bible video of this experience, we see that when Peter was focused on the Savior, he literally walked on the water.  It took extreme faith for Peter to step out of the boat and take the first steps. However, as he exercised his faith, a miracle took place.  Something that was not previously possible was made possible. It was only when he took his eye off the Savior, that he saw the waves and wind and began to be afraid.

We too can exercise our faith so that miracles will take place.  If we will focus our eyes on the Savior, we too will see  miracles and will be able to accomplish things that may not have previously been possible.
