DAY 13 - JESUS SHOWED HUMILITY AND SO CAN YOU
And last night, I was privileged once again to be Kris's date to the Utah Highway Patrol Christmas party for Section 4. Kris is known for being heavily involved with accident investigations and 10-46 (public assist) calls. This year he made a huge improvement with 18 DUI arrests!
Kris is always there to help his Sergeants and crewmates. If you know Kris well then you know that he ALWAYS gives 110% or more! He's been nominated several times for Trooper of the month and received Trooper of the month earlier this year. Last night Kris' peers selected him as Trooper of the Year!!! He deserves it fully! He puts his heart and soul into everything he does and everyone he helps. I'm one proud Trooper Wife!! He recently just celebrated his 4th anniversary with Highway and has a lot to show for it!!
Jesus showed us humility and so can we -- but today I want to honor my son. He is so humble, yet he deserves so much recognition. He is humble; as a trooper. an EMT firefighter, a father, husband, son and friend. He never brags or takes time to tell you what amazing service he was involved in. You have to ask him and get it out of him. He is truly someone who is an example of humility and like Jesus he goes about in service.
PROUD MOM ----SOOOO PROUD OF THIS KID OF MINE!!!! He is one hard working devoted guy -- not only to the UHP and the Tooele Firefighters (EMT). But is also the BEST father, husband son. He performs his responsibilities in such a quiet way and never goes out of his way to tell people. I love you Trooper Cope.
Last week I was honored to attend the North Tooele Fire Department Christmas party with Kris. He's been volunteering his time with them as an Advanced EMT since we moved here 2 years ago. Last year and again this year he received the Volunteer Firefighter of the Year award!!!
Along with that he was recognized by the Chief for responding to a significant event that caused him to forfeit sleep between his 10 hour shifts with Highway Patrol. It was a traumatic call for many. When Kris isn't at work with Highway he has his pager nearby and responds to EVERY call and sometimes it's just him and the Chief. Kris loves driving the truck, serving his community and using his medical skills as much as possible. He dreams of one day working on a Search & Rescue team.
Last month we attended the Utah Department of Public Safety Awards Banquet in which Kris received a Medal of Excellence award for his efforts in Public Information & Education. Kris does many presentations to Drivers Education classes throughout the Valley. This last week alone he put in 23 hours of overtime just doing these presentations!!
