The story continues....

I was assigned to answer the office phone calls while Sis. Gareis attended Zone Conference.   It was a quiet day in the office.  I received a call in the afternoon from the Chalco Hill Sisters - Sis. Gershin and Rook.  They had a referral and wanted me to see who the missionaries would be and what ward they lived in.  They were all excited and I was too. They gave me the address and I immediately had chills run up and down me.  It was Heather's address.  I started to get excited in a loud voice and said - "That is Heather's address -- our new convert -- we JUST baptized her and her three daughters three weeks ago!  Sis Gershin went as crazy as I was and also was loudly rejoicing.  She said ''Oh my goodness, you are kidding -- our referral is from her uncle.  He is so worried about her, and said that she is depressed with life, is struggling, needs to stop smoking and she needs the missionaries".  It's all DONE!  We are taking these four to the Winter Quarters Temple on Saturday to do baptisms.  HOW SWEET IS THAT!!!!  Another miracle in the missionary labors and another tender mercy from the Lord.  Sis Gershin couldn't wait to tell this uncle - a man in their ward and I couldn't wait to tell Heather.   I would be visiting them at their home that evening to help get Heather's niece McKenzie ready for baptism.

So I arrived at the home, sat through the discussion, just so anxious to tell Heather the news, but wanted McKenzie to have her "spotlight" first.  Mckenzie is 10 and really wants to be baptized.  She comes every week with Heather and her girls and she has sat through almost all of the discussions.  She loves church and primary. Her mom just gave her permission to be baptized.  Isn't the COOL!  After the discussion ended, I jumped up and told the group while embracing Heather -- the news about her uncle and his referral.  Heather had tears in her eyes and a glow about her and so much gratitude in her heart.  She said that she knew this was another confirmation that the Lord loves her, that she made the right choice and that someone in her family was looking our for her.  They will all be at a family reunion this weekend.....and what a reunion it will be.

I AM SOOOO GRATEFUL.

On Monday evening I took dinner and a birthday treat over to Heather's home and celebrated Angyl's birthday.  Heather had to work, so we pitched in and helped with the celebration.  All four Elders from the ward joined in:  Elders Karl, Maize, Donohue and Connolly.  It was a great night - but ended in a big cupcake fight amongst the kids and all we could do was watch.  They wouldn't listen ----- their mom grounded them the next day with cleaning assignments.  KIDS!!!!!
