GIRD UP YOUR LOINS
FRESH COURAGE TAKE
GOD WILL NEVER
US FORSAKE
ALL IS WELL, ALL IS WELL I am overcome with gratitude for my many blessings--for the tender mercies of the Lord and for his constant endearing love for me--and for his endless miracles he gives to me. I seriously can testify that there have been trillions of miracles in my life with my family and with my children. Today I have been blessed with yet another one. I am here at the Pioneer Cemetery in Winter Quarters feeling the beautiful spirit of our brave and beloved pioneers who are buried here ad throughout the valley. I feel so blessed to be one of their descendants. I feel so humbled when I read their words and imagine them here. I know that they know I am here. I know that they feel of my gratitude to them for how they sacrificed for us, for how they moved onward with so much faith. They truly give me strength to continue down my unknown paths - just like their unknown paths.
I have had a huge answer to a prayer today. There is such power in prayer -- such miracles that come from those prayers. And the Lord keeps his promises to us when we keep our promises to him. I can testify to that over and over again. This miracle and answer to my prayers comes with great gratitude. It came unexpected. It came in a beautiful way. This miracle has increased my love for my Savior today and has increased my testimony. It makes me aware once again of his love for us. He promised long ago that he would always care of me if I kept his commandments and my covenants. The answer to a prayer, the miracle, the blessing of today --- I know without any doubt that the Lord knew this event in my life was going to happen while I was serving a mission. He knew that I would need some financial help to take care of it. He knew that, even before I left on my mission and he took care of it even before I left. He already had the solution set up -- yet I also know that it was dependent on my faith and prayers -- by turning to him with a humble heart and a true desire to find the way - the solution. And I know that's why I received it the way I did -- because of my faith and my prayers and my desire to turn it all over to him -- for he is the one who blesses us with those miracles. It is he who is waiting for us to ASK. He is he who is ready to help us to bless us, to make things lighter and to lighten our load. Today is another witness of that blessing. It brings me to tears and makes me want to be an even greater missionary and modern day pioneer. I hope that I will always "gird up my loins and with fresh courage take and know that God will never us forsake."
We may not know WHEN or HOW the Lord's answers will be given, but in his time and his way. I testify his answers will come. --Robert B. Hale
