When I arrived here in Omaha last October - it was a beautiful fall. I loved it here instantly. Christy and I went to the Mormon Trail Center within our first few hours of arrival. They had a quilt exhibit going in the lower level of the center. There were over 100 quilts hung all very large room. The quilts were beautiful and had so much meaning to those who had made them. I decided right then that I would make a quilt for this years quilt show which starts in two weeks. I knew that I didn't have the time, not the equipment to make a outstanding quilt but I would make a meaningful quilt of some of the memories of this mission and the area. A place where so many of my ancestors lived. So I got to work. I asked Andrea if she would help in the drawing of some of the blocks- Braden helped too - with all of us we working together we got them done. I colored all the blocks, embroidered them - sewed them together and then borrowed a quilting frame and finished it off. Isn't it cute. I absolutely love it. I have: places here in Omaha, church sites, ancestors, missionaries, my mission call and my family. It is indeed a treasure and it will be the quilt show. SOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!
